Privacy Policy

Effective Date: September 2026

1. Introduction

Welcome to Pupilla ("we", "our", "us"). We respect your privacy and are committed to protecting it through our compliance with this Privacy Policy. This policy describes the types of information we may collect from you or that you may provide when you visit the website pupillalab.com (our "Website") and our practices for collecting, using, maintaining, protecting, and disclosing that information.

2. Information We Collect

We believe in data minimization and respect your digital privacy. Pupilla is designed to function primarily as a client-side application running directly in your web browser.

  • No Personal Data: We do not require you to create an account, nor do we ask for your name, email address, or any other personally identifiable information to use the simulator.
  • Hand Tracking / Webcam: If you use the optional hand tracking feature, the video stream from your webcam is processed entirely locally on your device by your web browser. No video or image data is ever uploaded, transmitted, or saved to our servers. The camera is only activated with your explicit permission and only while the feature is in use.
  • Local Storage: We may use browser Local Storage to save your preferences (such as language selection or dark mode settings) locally on your device. This data is not transmitted to us.
  • Standard Server Logs & Analytics: Like most websites, our hosting provider and CDN (Content Delivery Network) may automatically log standard technical information, such as your IP address, browser type, operating system, referring URLs, and pages visited, for security, performance monitoring, and basic analytics purposes.

3. How We Use Your Information

Since we do not collect personal data, we do not use your information for marketing, profiling, or tracking. The basic technical data collected by our servers is used exclusively to:

  • Ensure the security and reliability of the Website.
  • Understand general usage trends to improve the educational experience.
  • Maintain and optimize server performance.

4. Third-Party Services

We may use third-party services (such as Cloudflare) for hosting, DNS, and content delivery. These services may collect basic connection data (like IP addresses) as part of their standard operation to protect against DDoS attacks and ensure fast delivery of our site globally. We do not integrate third-party advertising trackers or invasive analytics scripts into the simulator.

5. Changes to Our Privacy Policy

We may update our Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make material changes to how we treat our users' privacy, we will post the new Privacy Policy on this page. The date the Privacy Policy was last revised is identified at the top of the page.
